Frequently Asked Questions

Being organized aiming to inspire and empower women in the STEM fields for taking the initiative and leadership in achieving the change they wish to see in the world, the targeted audience of the Summit would mainly be, but not limited to: young female tech community, entry-level and mid-level women tech professionals and academia.
No, absolutely not. As we all know, IEEE WIE envisions a passionate community of women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. Therefore, it is not only for women!
Whether it is men or women, anybody who believes in the importance of inspiring and empowering women for the betterment of humanity can be a part of this Summit.
The event will mainly revolve around STEM fields having sessions related to entrepreneurship, innovation, emerging technologies etc. which are more relevant to the female tech community. However, there is no such limitation that it is only for people from tech. If you are from a non-tech field and still think that there’s something worth to be explored and experienced here, you are mostly welcome to be a part of our Summit!
No. The Summit is not only limited to IEEE members. Anybody even without an IEEE membership also can join the Summit if they are interested. We have separate registration categories for non-IEEE members as well.
If you are a local delegate, you can select if it is non-IEEE student or non-IEEE industry. For international delegates, students and industry professionals/academia who are not affiliated to IEEE can register under non-IEEE international category.
Selecting the participants to the Summit will be on first-come first-serve basis. Since it is the first time in Sri Lanka that we are hosting a WIE Leadership Summit, we hope that the community is much excited to be a part of this event and at the same time as we are with a limited number of seats, it is highly recommended to register and reserve your seat without waiting until the last moment.
